An efficient way to realize existing energy reserves

Oil reserves
The efficient development and extraction of the existing oil & gas reserves is becoming more and more important. According to the Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe, the world’s total conventional oil recoverable reserves stood at 1,181 billion barrels in 2005. In addition, another 607 billion barrels of oil have been found currently irrecoverable either for technical or economic reasons. But even conventional oil reserves are becoming more difficult to explore and produce compared to the early days of the oil industry. Today’s reservoirs are far more complex and require advanced production technology. Separately, a share of hard-to-recover reserves is growing year by year. In Russia, for example, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources about 70% of total proven oil reserves are considered hard-to-recover.
